Industrial gaskets are sealing components placed between two flange faces to prevent leakage under compression. Kaxite manufactures gaskets in metallic, semi-metallic and non-metallic constructions — including spiral wound, ring joint, expanded graphite, corrugated, double jacket, PTFE, rubber, copper, non-asbestos, serrated and flange insulation gasket kits — serving oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, power generation, water treatment, marine and OEM industrial applications.
An industrial gasket is a mechanical seal that fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally flange faces, to prevent leakage while under compression. A gasket must resist the internal media, operating temperature, pressure and flange movement without losing its sealing force. Gasket selection directly affects safety, emissions, maintenance cost and plant reliability.
Kaxite has supplied sealing products to industrial buyers since 2015. Our gaskets range covers metallic, semi-metallic and non-metallic constructions, so engineers, maintenance teams, distributors and OEM buyers can source the correct gasket from one supplier instead of juggling multiple vendors.
A gasket is never just a "piece of material". It has to hold four forces in balance at the same time:
Chemicals, hydrocarbons, steam, gases and slurries that can attack or swell the sealing material.
Continuous, peak and cyclic heat loads that drive creep relaxation and oxidation.
Steady-state pressure plus surges and water hammer that try to blow the seal out.
Bolt load loss, thermal expansion, vibration and flange rotation that reduce sealing stress.
One supplier, one purchase order, one consistent quality standard — from a simple cut rubber gasket to a fully traceable ring joint for a wellhead.
Semi-metallic seals built from alternating layers of metallic strip and soft filler. Available with inner ring, outer ring, or both. The workhorse for high-pressure and high-temperature flanged joints, heat exchangers and piping systems.
Explore Spiral Wound GasketsMetallic seals for API 6A, API 17D and ASME B16.20 ring joint flanges. Styles include API, BX, RX, oval and octagonal — selected for high-pressure, high-temperature oil & gas, refining and petrochemical service.
View Ring Joint GasketsSuited to steam, hydrocarbons and heat transfer fluids. Available plain or with metallic reinforcement such as tanged metal, wire mesh or metal foil. Excellent thermal stability and creep relaxation resistance.
Browse Expanded Graphite GasketsOutstanding chemical resistance across a wide temperature range for chemical processing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage and water treatment lines. Supplied as virgin PTFE, modified PTFE, expanded PTFE and PTFE envelope styles.
See PTFE GasketsIdeal for low bolt load, irregular surfaces and food-grade or chemical-resistant duties. Common elastomers include NBR, EPDM, FKM/Viton, silicone, neoprene and SBR — each with different resistance to oils, fuels, water, steam, acids and weather.
View Rubber GasketsUsed in high-vacuum CF flanges, exhaust systems, engines and high-temperature sealing duties. Available in OFHC and oxygen-free copper grades.
Copper GasketsMade from aramid, glass, carbon and other fibres with elastomeric binders — a safer alternative to asbestos for water, steam, oils and general chemical service.
Non-Asbestos GasketsA metallic core with concentric serrations and a soft sealing layer. Chosen for heat exchangers, vessels and high-pressure piping where reliability and reusability matter.
Serrated GasketsElectrical isolation between dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion. Kits typically include the gasket, insulating sleeves and washers for complete flange isolation.
Flange Insulation Gasket KitsThe table below is general guidance only. Actual performance depends on flange finish, bolt load, media concentration, temperature and pressure. Always confirm the final material with Kaxite for critical applications.
| Material Type | Typical Temperature Range | Typical Pressure Range | Common Applications |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-asbestos fibre (NAO / CNAF) | -50 °C to +300 °C | Up to 150 bar | Water, steam, oils, general chemicals |
| Flexible graphite | -200 °C to +500 °C (inert) | Up to 250 bar | High-temperature steam, heat exchangers, hydrocarbons |
| PTFE | -260 °C to +260 °C | Up to 100 bar | Aggressive chemicals, pharma, food & beverage |
| Expanded PTFE | -240 °C to +280 °C | Up to 150 bar | Irregular surfaces, low bolt load, chemical service |
| EPDM rubber | -50 °C to +150 °C | Up to 25 bar | Hot water, low-pressure steam, cooling systems |
| FKM / Viton | -20 °C to +200 °C | Up to 30 bar | Aromatic hydrocarbons, acids, automotive, chemical |
| Spiral wound (SS316 + graphite) | -200 °C to +550 °C | Up to 250 bar | High-pressure flanges, heat exchangers, piping |
| Ring joint (soft iron, SS, alloy) | -200 °C to +600 °C | Up to 700 bar | Oil & gas wellheads, valves, high-pressure flanges |

Seven checks, in order, that prevent most sealing failures before the flange is even opened.
Even a correctly specified gasket can fail if the flange is prepared or tightened poorly. Follow this sequence every time.
Kaxite controls gaskets quality through incoming material inspection, dimensional checks and batch traceability. Depending on the product and order, we can provide material certificates, dimensional reports and test reports.
Our gaskets are manufactured to meet common international standards such as ASME, API, DIN, EN and JIS where applicable. Please confirm the required certification before ordering.
For critical service, send us the following information and we will recommend a gasket rather than guess one: media, temperature, pressure, flange standard, gasket size, quantity, plus any fire-safe or food-grade requirement.
Replacement intervals depend on service conditions, material and observed performance. In critical or aggressive service, gaskets are often single-use and should be replaced whenever the flange is opened. Inspect for compression set, cracks, blistering, chemical attack or leakage history.
Clean and align the flange faces, centre the gasket, hand-tighten the bolts in a star pattern, then tighten to the recommended torque in multiple passes. Re-torque after the first heat cycle if required, and always use a calibrated torque wrench.
Kaxite does not recommend reusing gaskets. Once compressed, the gasket conforms to flange imperfections and undergoes creep relaxation. Reuse increases the risk of leakage, safety hazards and unplanned downtime.
Common causes include incorrect material selection, improper installation, uneven bolt torque, damaged flange faces, system upsets and pressure surges. A failure analysis can usually identify the root cause.
Full-face gaskets cover the entire flange face including bolt holes and are used with flat-faced flanges. Inner-bolt-circle gaskets sit inside the bolt circle and are used with raised-face flanges. Always match the gasket to the flange standard.
